Hundreds of herbal medicinal products will be banned from sale in Europe under what campaigners say is a "discriminatory and disproportionate" European law and thousands of patients face the loss of herbal remedies that have been used for decades. From 1 May 2011, traditional herbal medicinal products must be licensed or prescribed by a registered herbal practitioner to comply with an EU directive passed in 2004. The directive was introduced in response to rising concern over adverse effects caused by herbal medicines. Read more about it and if you also feel that this is to much !! sign the petition

Hello, there a long time ago that we've started the works and I haven't informed you about it. it's only because I didn't have so much time but you must know that it goes on. The repairs and the plumbing are done for the 2 schools of Gad and Mbaye Fatma Kébé. The doors are also finished. Next week, the joiner will start the cases. And about the Kir Diom works, the wall is quite closed(80%) (the pictures were taken since the 24 of march). Kind regards. See you soon. Thanks a lot.Mame Birame SENE"
Merci. Mame Birame SENE"

Every year a few alsatian wine estates propose an interesting program during the time before christmas. At Vignoble Klur we choose one or 2 local associations each year for benefit actions. The AKA who is helping school in Senegal started the 2010 event with a nice evening around the open fire place and the wellknown story tellers Gérard Leser and Marie Barthélemy welcomed Sophie Perret. Stories about friendship and help, alsatian and african traditions, a lot of cookies and wines....and a very nice time. Sophie promissed us that she will continue the story of her life next year.

"And why not surnatural wines ? " Jean Marc Carité enjoys us with his brillant sentences and you can read the rest by suscribing to his newsletter.

In Katzenthal in 1997 there was almost a complete solar eclipse, during which we exposed some of our bottles of pinot noir on the roof of the cellar, for which the children of the school of KEBEMER designed great labels, all of the sales of this wine go to the profit of the school. Plus it's a cosmic wine, so make a charitable act !!! We still have some left. Contat us this is the best gift idea for christmas!

Yes you recognize Mister President of ALSACE KEBEMER AMITIES association !! As last year and the year before we harvested for the schools in Senegal, this time "big brother is watching us" but he also brought some fresh news from Kebemer: the 7 th building site at Toby Diop school started recently. The association earnt 24000 euro with actions at flowmarkets, private initiatives like this one and help of Conseil Général du Haut Rhin and député JL Christ. The director of the school engaged himself, the children, the parents, and the comité of environnement to maintain the building in good condition in the future. The swedish part of the association AKA Sverige will pay the building of the toilets and the compagny working on the site will change the door of the former building site (GadMbrama school) because they have been eaten by the termites. In a UN report that dates from the 3rd of May, 2007 by the FAO based in Rome called "Organic Agriculture and Food Security" the following extracts appeared: " organic agriculture is not a phenomenon belonging to developped countries. In 2006 it was practiced by 120 countries on 31 millions hectares and represented 40 millions dollars on the market.... The principle characteristics of organic agriculture are that is that it uses local means and methods of production and does not rely on fertilizers produced by burning petroleum: resorting to natural processes reduces costs and helps the land resist to climate change. States should integrate organic agriculture into their national priorities. Models suggest that organic agriculture can satisfy world food demands, just like today's conventional agriculture, but with a much smaller impact on the environment. The UN specialist on world hunger, Jean Ziegler adds " the death of poeple by hunger does not obey the rules of fatality. Behind each victim there is an assasin...The equation is simple: Whoever has money eats quickly. Those who don't suffer, becomes weak, and die."

Despite Europen directives, the opinion of the UN, the senat, scientists, agronomersaffirm the urgency to preserve the biodiversity of plants destined toward food, the association Kokopelli that claims the right to commercialize old seeds has been accused of illegal and dangerous sales of seeds. However, for 15 years the association proposes gardeners and farmers an alternative. In today's consumer society the biggest culpability for conventional seeds is to be successful in reproduction and adaptable to a number of conditions without agro-chemicals. It seems this is the fault of KOKOPELLI …At the hour when we are being made to believe that manufactured, genetically modified, chemical, fossil fuel, based production is the only possibility to assure the food supply, propogating autonomous seed distribution is reprehensible and dangerous..... Today, the potential loss of KOKOPELLI is a step toward genetic uniformity and the intensification of agricultural production. The disappearence of rich and « real » biodiversity based on genetic variability of a multitude of local varieties can never be replaced by a limited number of cloned species. Please support biodiversity by purchasing Kokopelli !!! |

ELIANT - European Alliance of Initiatives for Applied Anthroposophy - is working to ensure, in view of growing European integration, that legislative framework conditions are created to safeguard the various aspects of applied anthroposophy, including education, nutrition and agriculture, special needs (curative) education and social therapy, medicine and therapeutic disciplines.
It urges the need for policies and a European legislative framework which give people real diversity of choice when making decisions that affect quality of life and cultural diversity. The ELIANT campaign will pursue this goal until it is achieved and is very glad to collaborate closely with other organisations and institutions with similar aims. Every signature represents a gain for this campaign. The Alliance describes and publicises its aims and mode of work in a Charter. Please support the Charter’s aims with your signature

A happy team gathered together at the and of October to pick the gewurztraminer late-harvest grapes in the domain of Clément Klur. Peole from the area as well as Sweden, specficially our great harvester Sophia Britt. Everyone was ready to help the charity AKA, and found themselves transformed into a real Bacchus. The meal at the end of the harvest was well hydrated to say the least !! We're hoping to do the same next year with some traditional Senegalise dishes such as chicken yassa............. inscriptions are open!!!
