40th birthday for cremant

Our small vineyard in Katzenthal inherits ancien tradition but was founded in its modern form in 1999. It evolves in organic and biodynamic practice. Clement's cremant (sparkling wine) is aged on racks for 18 months and is made exclusively from Pinot Blanc Auxerrois grapes picked from our older vines, giving a lovely creamy accent. It also exists in a version where no sulphur whatsoever is added. A real success.

Planting Hinterburg vineyard

IMG 7124It was the perfect vineyard for gewurztraminer late harvest but the more than 65 years old stocks came to the very end of their lifes. After a short rest we decided to choose several differant selections of pinot noir for the next generations.... and planted 2000 stocks inbetween a lot of showers during the month of may 2016...

Malnic's biodynamic wine guide

s-biodynamie-2016This is the 5th edition Evelyne Malnic's biodynamic wine guide and she presents tasting notes for all the 6 wines we proposed ! 320 wines in total and 91 estates in all Europe. The followings are for some french training: Gentil de Katz "un alsacien au grand charme, bouche ronde, gourmande, bel équilibre, fraîcheur, une finale à l'unisson et parfaitement équilibrée, le plaisir est là !" Le Katz "l'attaque puissante annonce une bouche savoureuse sur fond de minéralité bien affirmé qui se prolonge longuement en finale (filet de sole poêlée au citron) Le WIN.CK "large partition d'arômes fruités, floraux, touches d'épices, minéralité tendre. C'est frais, fruité, savoureux. Finale à pointe salivante de bon augure. (poulet sauté à la citronelle)". GEWURZ SEC " flatteur, nez frais, attaque murmurante, bouche ciselée, finale harmonieuse et salivante (grenadin de veau fêves fraiches)". Riesling KLUR "bien structuré, élégant, belle matière, on en redemande (tempura de légumes et poissons)". PINOT GRIS GRAND CRU WINECK SCHLOSSBERG " harmonieux et racé, nez joliment aromatique, bouche ronde et charnue, symphonie aromatique pour finir en beauté. Beau travail de vigneron (crevettes sautées au curry et lait de coco).
